First… how am I feeling?

If I’m honest, launches will probably always scare me a little. Every product takes so much heart, soul, and time, and I pour everything into bringing something I truly love to life. There’s always that little voice in my mind – I’ve invested so much into something I believe in… how will it land?

But then I remind myself: I started HOLY CACAO just over a year ago with nothing but determination, belief, and a love for creating products that genuinely nourish the body. Now, thousands of you have joined this journey and that still amazes me every day.

And these bars… I’m obsessed. Like every product I’ve created, they were born from a genuine need – something I couldn’t find anywhere else.

My Pain Points

• Why are so many protein bars packed with fillers and low-quality ingredients?

• ⁠Why do I always end up bloated, sluggish, or in a sugar crash after eating them?

• ⁠I love a sweet treat, but anything artificial triggers my gut and skin.

• Collagen is essential for our gut, skin, and glow – but I’d always forget to take it, and it’s so hard to find something high quality, actually absorbed by the body, and that doesn’t break the bank.

• Why is it so hard to find something nourishing, convenient, and genuinely delicious on the go? I’d walk into a supermarket and immediately walk out disappointed (and still in need of a snack!)

The ‘Aha’ Moment

I’d been working on these bar samples for months. Then I took myself to Bali for a few months of remote working. Somewhere along the way, I overdid it. I worked too hard, stopped listening to my body, and completely burnt out. My hormones crashed, I lost my balance and myself.

Through lots of hormonal testing, blood work, and working with a naturopathic doctor, I was told to avoid all artificial sugar – no exceptions. But then she said something that completely shifted everything:

“If you want something sweet, have a couple of dates as they’re packed with fibre, minerals, and antioxidants. But when you have them, pair them with some protein.”

That was it. The lightbulb moment. I realised the product I’d been sitting on was exactly what my body, and so many others, needed. A bar made from real, nourishing ingredients, naturally sweetened with dates, and packed with quality protein and collagen. I made a few calls, flew home early, and got straight to work.

A Nod to My Childhood

Growing up in Amman, Jordan, I was surrounded by the most incredible food and it’s truly where I fell in love with organic dates. The more I researched and explored their benefits, the more it felt right that this naturally sweet, nutrient-rich fruit would become the heart of our bars.

Our bars are a nod to those memories – made with organic dates not just for their natural sweetness and nourishment, but as a tribute to my time in the Middle East and the communities that shaped me.
